Hello! Since Trump took office on January 20th, Russia has doubled its attacks on Ukraine compared with the last 6 months of the Biden administration, but the upward trend started from the summer of 2024. Based on daily incident reports issued by the Ukrainian Air Force, Russia launched 27,158 munitions, but it was 11,614 over the final six months of Biden's term.

Moreover, Russia's attacks on Ukraine have increased after the Alaska meeting with Donald Trump on August 15. In the first 15 days of August, Ukraine’s air force said Russia launched a total of 1,131 drones and 21 missiles, at a daily average of 75.4 drones and 1.4 missiles. But from Aug. 16 to 31, Ukraine’s air force reported 3,001 Russian drones and 135 missiles at a daily average of 187.5 drones and 8.4 missiles.

No night of August passed without a Russian attack. However, the overall number of long-range Russian drones and missiles launched in August was around 34% less than in July, according to the Ukrainian air force's figures.

Ukrainian forces say they are taking down around 85% of the drones and 68% of missiles launched by Russia during August. July was the deadliest month for Ukrainian civilians since May 2022, with 286 people killed and 1,388 people injured.
