The deal of Trump with Hamas

The agreement between Hamas and Israel is now a reality, although there are still many uncertainties about its final content. The agreement was organized by Trump and approved by most of the Muslim countries allied with the Palestinian cause (Qatar, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank). The first thing that will happen is:
-Hamas will hand over the approximately 20 Israeli hostages who are still alive, and the 20-30 bodies of the hostages who have died.
-Israel will release some 2,000 Palestinian prisoners, many of whom were sentenced to life imprisonment for terrorist attacks in Israel before the war.
-The Israeli army will withdraw and abandon 50% of the Gaza Strip closest to the sea.
-Israel will commit to allowing more humanitarian aid products to pass through (400 trucks per day).
The second phase involves the demilitarization of Hamas plus the creation of a technocratic and international authority to rebuild Gaza. And, the third is the formation of a deradicalized Palestinian government (similar to what happened in Japan and Germany after World War II) and the establishment of a Palestinian state that does not threaten Israel's security.
The complete peace for Gaza of 20 points (see below) has been approved by the Palestinian Authority, that governs in the West Bank, and all the following countries:
Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and the UAE (all countries on the pro-Plestinian side) have accepted it.
If Hamas rejects the plan, then Israel will be legitimised to continue its operation in Gaza with all the destruction that it entails.
The plan includes a ceasefire in the Israeli offensive, the release of all hostages, and the establishment of a transitional government supervised by a council chaired by Trump himself.
The United States also commits to mediating between Israel and Palestine for “peaceful coexistence,” and opens the door to the creation of a Palestinian state.
"If Hamas rejects it, Israel has my backing to destroy them" Trump said.
These are the 20 points:
1. Gaza will be a terrorism-free zone and will not represent a threat to Israel.
2. Gaza will be rebuilt for the benefit of its people.
3. Immediate ceasefire and gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces to prepare for hostage release.
4. Release within 72 hours of all Hamas hostages, both alive and deceased.
5. Israel will release 250 Palestinian prisoners serving life sentences and 1,700 Gazans detained after the October 7 attacks.
6. Hamas commits to peaceful coexistence and disarmament.
7. Once the agreement is accepted, all necessary humanitarian aid will be sent to Gaza.
8. The entry and distribution of humanitarian aid will take place without interference and through United Nations agencies.
9. Gaza will be administered by a technocratic committee supervised by an international “Peace Board” chaired by Trump himself and including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. A reformed Palestinian Authority will later take control.
10. An economic development plan will be created for Gaza to attract investment.
11. A special economic zone will be established in Gaza.
12. There will be no forced displacement; those who leave voluntarily will have the right to return, although “people will be encouraged to stay and offered the opportunity to build a better Gaza.”
13. Hamas and other factions will not be allowed to govern Gaza “either directly or indirectly,” and the Strip will be demilitarized under international supervision.
14. Countries in the region will guarantee that Hamas and other groups honor their commitments and that Gaza poses “no threat to their citizens or neighbors.”
15. An International Stabilization Force (ISF), supported by the US and Arab partners, will be deployed to train Palestinian police forces and maintain internal and border security, an area in which Egypt and Israel will cooperate.
16. Israel will neither occupy nor annex Gaza, will withdraw progressively to transfer control to the ISF, and may maintain a security perimeter if necessary.
17. In the event Hamas “delays or rejects” the proposal, all of the above will be implemented in the “terrorism-free zones” that Israel has transferred to the ISF.
18. Interfaith dialogue will be promoted to encourage tolerance and peaceful coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis.
19. As reconstruction advances and reforms are carried out in the Palestinian Authority, the possibility of self-determination and the creation of a Palestinian state will be opened.
20. The United States will establish dialogue between Israel and Palestine to agree on a political horizon allowing peaceful and prosperous coexistence.
